Abstract

450,783. Splints. THACKRAY, W. P., 10, Park Street, Leeds. April 16, 1935, No. 11689. [Class 81 (ii)] In a splint of the type comprising a leg or arm ring, a pair of stretcher bars dependent therefrom, and an instep or hand bar, the stretcher bars are adapted for longitudinal adjustment under control of spring latch devices. The latch consists of a stirrup-like plate f adapted to register through a slot c<2> in each of the top tubes c with any of a series of notches d<1> formed in the lower rods d which telescope into the tubes c. The blade f is normally pressed into the notches by a spring blade f<1> having a clip connection f<2> with the tube c. The arm or leg ring a, which is riveted to the bars c in oblique relation thereto, is adjustable and consists of two flexible strips clamped together by thumb-screws b operating within guide slots a<1>.
