450,722. Cartridge-clips. VICKERSARMSTRONGS, Ltd., LARSSON, C. A., and HIGSON, P. R., Broadway, Westminster. June 28, 1935, Nos. 118503. [Classes 9 (i) and 92 (ii)] Cartridge-clips B, Fig. 3, for use in box magazines A, Fig. 1, are provided with cartridgeretaining lips B<1> at the breech end and a removable pin E at the other end which pin retains the cartridges in the clip and is adapted to be withdrawn before the clip is inserted into the magazine. After withdrawing the pin, the clip is pushed through the breech end of the magazine thereby compressing the spring A4 of the platform A<3>. The clip is retained in the magazine by a catch A<2>, and escape of the cartridges is prevented by the lips B<1>. The magazine is retained on the gun by catches engaging a projection S<1> on the magazine and a projection S on the clip. The side walls of the clip embrace a double row of cartridges and have ribs B<5> guided in grooves in the magazine. The removable pin E is in the form of a ring-handled split pin bearing against the two uppermost cartridges as shown in Fig. 5.
