[Class 77] [See also Groups XI, XXXVI, and XXXVIII] A life-saving jacket is provided with a pocket 15 to receive an electric battery lamp comprising a lamp bulb mounted upon a galvanic cell which receives sea water as an electrolyte to energize it and light the lamp automatically when the jacket is immersed in the sea. The pocket 15 is formed between two layers of cloth 13, 14 at the back of the jacket and is open at its bottom end to receive the lamp, the upper end of the pocket being formed with a choke or resilient constriction edged with a cotton covered rubber band 20 which grips the neck of the lamp globe when the latter is pushed upwardly therethrough.
