Abstract

450,340. Conditioning air. LEIGH, A. G., 17, Southport Road, Chorley, Lancashire. April 2, 1935, No. 10164. [Class 137] An air-conditioning cabinet comprises a fan 11 by which air is blown into the cabinet in which are a number of compartments separated by partitions 14 and communicating at one side by inlets and outlets 24, 25, valves 1 in a side duct being used to byepass one or more of the compartments which contain the air conditioning appliances. Entering air passes first through a gauze filter 3, and may pass in succession through grids 27 impregnated with glycerine and a germicide, a bed 5 of deodorizing charcoal, a chemical desiccator or other moisture absorbent 6, solid vaporizable disinfectant 7, cooling and humidifying means 8 and an electric heater 9. In the cooling compartment a valve 35 diverts the air through passage 34 and spaces between tubes 33 the bases of which are cooled by ice in compartment 37.
