Abstract

450,196. Screw fans. WINSOR AXIA FANS, Ltd., and GOUGH, R. E., 9, Victoria Street, Westminster. June 27, 1935, No. 18438. [Class 110 (i)] A screw fan unit for circulating gases in an insulated chamber comprises a cylin. drical casing 1 which is closed at the outer end by a plate 2 and at the inner by a conoidal member 3. The fan shaft is supported between the plate 2 and the member 3 and is enclosed within a tube 9 cast integrally either with the plate 2 or the member 3. The casing 1, the plate 2 and the member are welded together to enable the casing to be evacuated. The fan shrouding ring 5 is supported by guide vanes 4. The ring 5 may be formed as a prolongation of the casing 1. Specification 430,956 is referred to.
