Abstract

449,413. Roller blinds. HAWKES & SNOW, Ltd., and WHITE, A., Priory Works, Stratford Road, Shirley, Warwickshire. Jan. 31, 1935, No. 3138. [Class 52 (v)] A roller window blind provided with a bottom rod band stiffening cross-bars c has metal or other protective pieces f, h secured over the ends of the cross-bars c and the bottom rod b to prevent wearing of the edges of the blind in the guide channels e. The pieces fare U-shaped, the two parallel arms being of approximately channel section so that the pieces can be slid over the ends of the cross-bars c and spikes g on one arm are passed through the blind material and bent round the other arm to hold the piece in place. The piece h, Fig. 6, is of similar shape and fits on the ends of the rod b, a space being left between the upper edges of the arms for the accommodation of the blind material, the lower edges of the arms being secured together by a tongue i on one arm passing into a slot on the other arm.
