Abstract
413,308. Slide rules. DARGUE, A. W., and DARGUE, F. L., Simplon Works, South Street, Halifax, Yorkshire. Dec. 7, 1932, No. 34598. [Class 106 (i).] The stock a of a slide-rule is caused to contact with the slide b by springs c, each spring being provided at its four corners with integral pointed projections bent at right angles to the plane of the spring, whereby the springs are fastened to the stock. The springs are initially of bowed form and when they have been pressed into the back of the stock the latter is cut longitudinally as at e for the whole or a part of its length. A thin strip of wood is glued over the back of the stock and the springs. In a modification, the springs are pressed into a wooden strip, a cover strip is applied and the whole is then secured to the back of the stock. Specifications 115,981 and 136,090, [both in Class 106 (i)], are referred to.
