[Class 83 (iv)] A tube is reduced by pushing it while on a mandrel, through spaced pairs of small undriven rolls b backed by large support rollers C and each pair being set at a different angle to the tube diameter. The rolls b are provided with end thrust bearings f, and the shape of the pass is circular at the trough and tangential at the sides.
