Abstract

1299471 Corrugating by rolls GES FUR KERNVERFAHRENSTECHNIK mbH 3 March 1970 [3 March 1969] 10090/70 Heading B3E A groove 10 is formed in a workpiece, such as a tube 7, of thin-walled hard sheet metal by a pressing roller 1 and counter roller 2 which first form a V-shaped groove and then broaden the groove by reciprocating the pressing roller along its axis. Further successive rolling steps (Figs. 1b-1d, not shown) provide a deep narrow groove in the tube which may be a centrifugal rotor of a centrifuge. In another embodiment, Fig. 2 (not shown), a pair of parallel grooves are formed by a pair of rollers (25, 26) movable both towards the workpiece and also along their common axis.
