Abstract

447,400. Heating feedwater. SHELDRICK, W. A., 12, Church Road, Canton, Cardiff. Oct. 10, 1934, No. 28953. [Class 64 (i)] [See also Group XXVIII] In a direct contact feedwater heater mounted in the steam space of a boiler, an annular water inlet nozzle 2 is detachably secured above a flared open-top chamber 3 carrying a converging outlet piece 10, to which is attached a pipe depending into the boiler water space. The annular stream of water from the nozzle is directed. by a conical baffle 13 over an annular serrated ring 16 held on a ledge in the chamber 5 by bolts 4. A conical deflector 14 guides the heated water into the outlet.
