Abstract
446,899. Toys. GAUNT, C. F., Warstone Parade, Birmingham. Nov. 2, 1934, No. 31459. [Class 132 (iii)] A toy building, Fig. 3, is formed from a plurality of flat blanks, Figs. 1 and 2, of thin sheet aluminium or other soft metal and of rectangular, circular or oval shape so that they can be inserted into cigarette or other goods packets without damaging the goods, each of said blanks bearing the representation of a single part of said building which has tabs 11 and slots 12 for engagement with slots and tabs in another part represented on another of said blanks and being weakened along the outline 13 of said representation so that the unwanted portions 5 or 9 of the blank can be removed. The weakening of the blank can be effected by slitting or perforating at intervals or the blank may be partially cut through so that a groove is formed at one side and a ridge at the other side, the ridge being afterwards pressed back. The blank is also weakened along the bending lines 14 preferably by perforating or scoring. To facilitate the removal of the unwanted portions 5 or 9, the blank may be weakened along lines leading from the edge thereof to the outline of the representation. The representations on the metal blanks are preferably printed in colours or embossed thereon. Cubes, prisms or pyramids may be formed in a manner similar to that of the toy building.
