[Class 136 (i)] A bridge-piece b for securing a cycle, perambulator, &c. mudguard a to the ends of stays d is bent or folded at each end to form a clip e adapted to receive between its side walls a stay wire d passing through a base slot f, which is long enough to allow the stay wire d to be placed at any desired angle, a screw g clamping the clip e on the wire. An inwardly-bent part h gives support to the outer wall of the clip when the screw g is tightened. The upper end of the wire d passes through a slot in the part h, and may be cut off after the stay has been adjusted and clamped.
