In a strut type suspension the hub carrier 4 has an inward and upward extension 7 which is clamped to the lower end of the strut 2 by clamps 11, 12, and a lower extension 9 carrying a ball joint 10 about which transverse link 19 is pivotal. Extension 7 is positively located by a spigot 14 of the strut and the steering arm is integral with clamp 11.
