Abstract

444,984. Centrifugal machines. WATSON, LAIDLAW, & CO., Ltd., and LAMONT, R. W., 98, Laidlaw Street, Glasgow. March 8, 1935, No. 7253. [Class 23] An hydro - extractor with a rotary basket 2 has an open-sided discharger-structure comprising a boss 4, keyed to slide on the basket shaft 3, and carrying a false bottom 5 with upstanding radial partitions 6. Top brackets 7 are provided integral with the boss 4, and half-covers 8 are pivoted at the top of the boss. When the discharger is within the basket for centrifuging, a resilient ring 12 within the boss 4 rests on the upper end 13 of the basket hub, and the half-covers 8 lie on the rim of the basket. The discharger can be raised by gear and hooks 15, which engage eyes 16 on the brackets 7. Levers 17 engage a collar 18 in the raised position of the apparatus, to tilt the half covers 8. The discharger may be applied to extractors of the under - driven type. Specifications 293,263, [Class 23], and 377,578 are referred to.
