Abstract

Centrifugal decanter of the suspended rotating bowl type is characterised by the bowl, the supporting axle of the bowl, the bearings supporting this axle during rotation, and the base to which the bearings are fixed being capable of being raised relative to the fixed vessel of the decanter at the same time that a stopping plug is interposed between the base and the bowl to close a passage opening provided in a horizontal protecting slab or partition. The decanter can safely separate dangerous suspensions and as corrosive or radio-active suspensions.
