Abstract

444,808. Fastener for parachute packs. REZLER, J., 25, Tusarova, Prague. Dec. 10, 1935, No. 34228. Convention date, Dec. 11, 1934. [Class 4] A fastening device for a parachute pack of the type having flaps provided with resilient means for pulling them open upon disengagement of a securing pin, comprises a stud 3, Fig. 1, disposed in a case 1 attached to one flap 15, case 1 being provided with a telescopically slidable cap 7 normally urged away from the case by a spring 9 and formed with an aperture through which the stud can project, the parts being so arranged that on cap 7 being pushed inside the case against the action of spring 9, the end of stud 3 which is apertured at 14 to receive rip-cord pin 13 projects through the aperture in the cap sufficiently to permit engagement of eyelets of other flaps of the pack and insertion of securing pin 13, whilst on withdrawal of pin 13 spring 9 pushes the cap 7 into a position, Fig. 2. in which the stud 3 does not project beyond the cap thus positively ensuring disengagement of the flap eyelets from the securing stud 3. Stud 3 is formed with a ball-shaped end disposed in a cylindrical housing 2 formed in case 1 and is secured by a cup-shaped socket 4, this arrangement permitting the stud a certain freedom of movement.
