Abstract

444,594. Electric-transformer tanks with radiator elements. ENGLISH ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., 28, Kingsway, London, and CHADWICK, A. T., and STEARN, G. F., Siemens Works, Stafford. Sept. 24, 1934, No. 27394. [Class 29] The external radiator tubes 5 of an oil tank 3 of a core type transformer 1 extend from the top of the tank wall to a point 9 substantially opposite the bottom of the transformer windings, which is the lowest hot part of the transformer. This is stated to provide a better oil circulation than common arrangements in which the tubes extend to the bottom of the tank, as shown at 8 in dotted lines. One or two of the tubes may, however, extend to the bottom of the tank.
