Abstract

444,335. Window frames; ; sills. HELLIWELL & CO., Ltd., and HOLTON, J. W., Birds Royd, Brighouse, Yorkshire. Nov. 3, 1934, No. 31592. [Class 20 (iii)] A metal window comprises two channels A on each side in which the sash weights slide, the openings of the channels, being covered by linings D having grooves for rounded guides E secured to flanges F on the vertical sash stiles. The bottom rails of the sashes are T-shaped and the lower sash beds, when closed, on fibre packing G housed in a recess in a T-shaped sill member H. The sloping front of the sill overlies the tiles. The top rail of the upper sash engages behind a downward flange of a metal lintel. The linings D are preferably of manganese-bronze or other non-corrosive metal.
