Abstract

A latex composition of high viscosity and containing at least 65 and preferably more than 80 per cent of solids is extruded to form filaments &c. which set and dry by mere exposure to the air. The composition may be made by partial coagulation and concentration, by the addition of rubber solvents or solutions, by the admixture of latex and rubber, by the addition of fillers, or by combinations of these. The filaments may be dusted with friction-reducing powders, and may be vulcanized, or vulcanized latex may be employed.
