Abstract
Powders for producing hard rubber mouldings consist of a mixture of rubber powders derived from hard vulcanized rubber and softer vulcanized rubber, for example, in the proportion of 75 per cent of the hard rubber powder to 25 per cent of the softer rubber powder. The use of such moulding powders enables standard moulds of the plunger type and presses such as are employed when moulding synthetic resin and similar compositions to be employed. Sulphur and/or accelerators may be added to the moulding powder if required. Examples of suitable mixes for the production of the hard and softer rubber powders are given.
