Abstract
441,795. Valves. WINN & CO., Ltd., C., MOUSLEY, A., and HINCHLEY, E. R. W., 140, Granville Street, Birmingham. Dec. 6, 1934, No. 35003. [Class 135] In water and other liquid systems in which air collecting at the highest point of the system is released by a floatactuated valve, collection and discharge of foreign matter are facilitated by providing the float chamber with a downward extension or chamber in the bottom of which is a substantial opening closed by a detachable cap or thimble and from which a passage communicates with the system. The float chamber a has a downward extension h, an opening in which is covered by the thimble k. A screwed stop valve r is used to isolate the float chamber from the system during the draining of the float chamber. In a modification a stop valve is located in a pipe leading from the extension, and in a further modification a non-return valve is provided to prevent return of air to the system.
