Abstract

401,667. Valve accessories. MASON, H. L., 103, King Henry's Road, South Hampstead, London. May 9, 1932, No. 13341. Addition to 391,438. [Class 135.] Relates to valves fitted with supplementary valves for closing the passageway when the main valve is removed, the supplementary valve having resilient means allowing insertion (but not return) through the valve seat aperture, as in the parent Specification. The supplementary valve consists of a cage P flanged at Q and provided with a thin metal washer A, a rubber washer B, a thin metal washer C, and a thick metal washer D, secured by a screw or rivet E. The washer C has a diameter slightly larger than that of the aperture, cupping during insertion. The washer B and the aperture may be correspondingly bevelled at band f, improving the closure.
