Abstract
441,345. Projection screens. TURNER, D., 32, Princess Road, Gloucester Gate, London. July 19, 1934, Nos. 21076/34 and 19439 /35. [Class 97 (i)] Projection screens comprise perforated metal sheets having butted edges secured to a wood framework formed to provide openings of slightly less area than the sheets. The sheets may be nailed, screwed, riveted, &c. to the frame, the heads being embedded in the screen material to form a flush surface. The metal may be zinc, may be an alloy containing lead, or may be steel coated with spelter, lead, copper, tin, or white metal, &c. The edges of the sheets may be chamfered, toothed, or serrated, &c., and the seams between them may be filled with solder, lead, putty, &c. The finished screen may be enamelled, painted, &c. on both sides. The Figure shows perforated sheets a secured by nails f to a frame comprising wooden members c, d notched. and screwed together. The members c, d may be of rectangular, triangular, hexagonal, or octagonal shape, and may be apertured, corrugated, grooved, &c. to provide passages by which air may pass through the perforations in the sheets. The perforations may be round, triangular, square, or hexagonal.
