Wall; wall coverings.-In structures comprising upright metal frame members supporting outer plates from which an inner wall or lining is spaced, the outer metal plates overlap horizontally and their upper edges are bent over inwardly and support a framing to which asbestos or other sheets constituting the inner wall or lining are fixed. The metal plates a<1> arranged between, and secured to, uprights a are set back near their upper ends a<4> so as to present a plane surface when overlapped, and are bent inwardly at a<5> to support nailing strips a<8>. Wooden uprights a<7> connected by cross pieces a<10> are secured to the strips a<8> and provide a framing to which the inner sheets a<6> or lining is secured. Jointing material, such as lead or bitumen, may be applied between the metal sheets, and they may be coated with red lead or bitumen.
