Abstract
441,081. Valve-discharge water-wastepreventers. CRIGHTON, V., 8, Nelson Street, Dundee. July 13, 1934, No. 20548. [Class 26] In a valve-discharge waterwaste-preventer, the valve is carried by one, B, of two cranks on a crank-shaft fitted with an external operating- handle C, the arrangement being such that when the valve has been lifted, the tendency of the suction thereon to close it, is resisted by the engagement of the handle against a suitably-disposed stop G and that throughout the period in which the valve is open the ball-cock is maintained closed by a connection between its lever E and the second crank B<1>. When the tank empties, the parts are restored to their normal positions by the weight of the ball-valve float and its lever acting upon the part D depending from the second crank B<1>.
