440,929. Protectors for boots &c. SOC. DES PROCEDES FIT, 96, Rue d'Echirolles, Grenoble, France. May 4, 1935, No. 13376. Convention date, June 27, 1934. [Class 17 (iii)] A protective strip 1 for the soles and heels of footwear i s formed with a series of straight sided projections 4 which extend to near or beyond the longitudinal axis of the strip, the straight sides being so inclined that, when the strip is bent substantially, as for example round the toe or heel, as shown in Fig. 7, the sides abut to present a continuous wearing surface. The strip may be secured by the aid of nails, screws or the like driven into the sole or heel and engaging reinforcing washers embedded in cavities 6 in the strip. Each cavity may be provided with a projecting rim 10 to increase the anti-slipping effect. Specification 165,538, [Class 17 (iii)], is referred to.
