Abstract

440,556. Lifting-dogs. COMPAGNIES REUNIES DES GLACES ET VERRES SPECIAUX DU NORD DE LA FRANCE, Boussois-sur-Sambre, France. April 9, 1935, No. 24635. Convention date, April 9, 1934. Divided out of 440,467, [Group XXIII]. [Class 78 (iv)] A device for suspending a glass plate during the operation of tempering comprises a pair of bars provided at or near their ends with sharpened points which are adapted to enter the softened glass, while the central portions of the bars remain out of contact with the glass. The bars 2, Fig. 2, are attached to the arms 3 of two tongs which are suspended by links 5 from a rod 6. Each bar 2 is formed, at or near its ends, with knife edges 8, Fig. 3, or points 9 to grip the glass plate 1. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 also describes bars provided with continuous straight knife edges. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
