Abstract

440,349. Rotary cement &c. kilns. JORGENSEN, M. VOGEL-, 24, Bulowsvej, Frederiksberg, near Copenhagen. June 26, 1934, No. 18853. [Class 51 (ii)] In a rotary kiln for burning cement &c. in the form of slurry and having a screen of drying chains at its widened upper end, the diameter of the screen is greater than its thickness in the axial direction of the kiln and the chains, while movable, are in contact with one another at a large number of points and present only such openings for the passage of the gases and the slurry as are formed by the gaps resulting from the irregular shape of the chains. The slurry is fed by a sprayer &c. which distributes it over the surfaces of the chains facing the inlet end of the kiln. The dried slurry is delivered into the burning zone by scoops 5.
