Abstract

439,073. Stoppers for bottles. FEAU, L., 11, Place du Parc, Sevres, Seine-et-Oise, France. Oct. 25, 1934, No. 30604. [Class 125 (iii)] A stopper of the type comprising a valve mem ber which opens when the pressure in the bottle &c exceeds or falls below a predetermined amount, and in which the valve is accommodated between two component parts. According to the invention, the body portion 21 of the stopper is formed with a cavity on the underside into which a member 22 is fixed, containing a spring- pressed valve element 23. The spring 24 may comprise a resilient sheet metal stamping or usual spiral. The valve member may comprise a plug which is polygonal in section so that one or more orifices in the main portion are always left open. The valve member may be an elastic diaphragm extending across the inserted member, and the body portion may be of dished sheet metal &c.
