Abstract

438,715. Cleaning poultry cages &c. PROCTOR, A., and PROCTOR, J. A., 14, Tennyson Street, Harle Syke, near Burnley. Aug. 1, 1935, No. 21787. [Class 5 (ii)] To clean the dropping boards of battery poultry cages a truck comprising side frames 1 spaced apart by stay bars 2 and mounted on wheels guided by rails 4 4 is moved between opposed cages 5. The track carries arms 8 which can be moved outwardly in slot guides and are maintained in extended position by engagement with pins mounted on vertical rods 10 actuated by hand levers 12. The free end of each arm 8 is extended downwardly and shaped to form a scraper 14 and a U-shaped frame 16 is attached to lugs 15 on the rear side of each arm. The frame 16 supports a rotary or flat brush 17 and a sawdust container and distributer 18. The container may be supported on rollers 20.
