Abstract
438,246. Wearing-apparel. AMERICAN LADY CORSET CO., 1060, West Fort Street, Detroit, Michigan, U.S.A. March 15, 1935, No. 8070. Convention date, Jan. 8. [Class 141] Brassieres; corsets.-Relates to combination garments comprising upper and lower dress elements, (e.g. a brassiere and a corset) detachably secured together, and consists in securing means for garments adapted to be opened at angularly spaced zones, the upper element overlapping the lower element at the outer side thereof, the securing means passing through the lower element and one or more of them being detachably secured to the upper dress element. A brassiere 1 opens at the back, and overlaps, at the waist, a corset 2 opening at the side. Four securing straps are provided, all passing through slits 7 in the corset. Each strap has a plurality of button-holes engaging buttons 9 on the inside of the corset. At least the strap between the openings is detachably secured to the inside of the brassiere, the preferred fastening being a hook 11 engaging an eye 12. The remaining straps may be sewn to the inside of the brassiere or may engage buttons thereon.
