Abstract

438,018. Valve generating and modulating circuits. TELEFUNKEN GES. FUR DRAHTLOSE TELEGRAPHIE, 12, Hallesches Ufer, Berlin. Aug. 21, 1935, No. 23515. Convention date, Aug. 21, 1934. [Class 40 (v)] Push-pull modulation is effected across the anodes of two valves, more particularly the split anodes 51, 52 of a magnetron M, by a valve R which is shunted across the anode voltage supply lines + Ea1 + Ea2. The effect of a modulating current applied at Tm varies the impedance of the valve R, and sets up voltages across impedances W1, W2 which, as shown by the arrows, are effectively in push-pull across the two anodes S1, S2 of the magnetron. Voltage-dropping resistances are inserted in the supply leads, either at W3 or W4 to provide the necessary potential difference across the valve R, whilst maintaining the same mean operating voltage on the anodes of the magnetron. The modulated output from the magnetron is tuned by a Lecher-wire bridge B.
