[Class 36] A flexible cable comprises two or more cores enclosed in a sheathing of hard rubber or the like and separated from one another by a flexible cradle core of insulating material, one or more tension reinforcing members being embedded in the core outside a central portion thereof free from reinforcement, such central portion being bounded by the cores and the external common tangents of neighbouring core conductors. The reinforcing members may be of fibrous material in the form of cords or twisted tapes, or of twisted metal tapes or wires or groups of wires, and one or more of the members may be formed of twisted fibrous or metallic tapes on which are printed, indented or embossed identification marks.
