Abstract

Ooze is disintegrated by partially drying the material in closed rooms or containers and then freezing it, after which it is heated to disintegrate and dry the material. The material may be sieved or further pulverized in a mill. The dried material may be used as a fertilizer or as temperature-insulating material or may be mixed with a binder and pressed into shape and burnt to form stones for building, heat-insulating, &c.
