436,767. Hair - curling appliances. McFADDEN, R. M., 115, West Colorado Boulevard, Glendale, California, U.S.A. Nov. 12, 1934, No. 32584. Convention date, July 10, 1934. [Class 131] A hair-curling device comprises a perforated conical tube 1 on which the tress is wound, a pivoted jaw 6 adapted to grip the end of the tress and provided with perforations 9 adapted to register with certain of the perforations in the tube 1 when the jaw is in operative position, and a pivoted clamp 10, adapted to secure the wound tress in position, and provided at the free end with a resilient rubber wheel 16 adapted to engage within the reduced end 17 of the tube. The pivotal connection between the parts is formed by passing inturned ends 14, 15 of the arms 11, 12 of the clamp 10 through perforations in the jaw 6 and tube 1, the inturned ends overlapping and being relatively slidable to allow lateral expansion of the arms 11, 12.
