Abstract
436,360. Preventing dimming of windscreens. KNECHT, A., Wilen-Rickenbach, Thurgau, Switzerland. May 8, 1935, No 13563. [Class 20 (iii)] Fogging of the front and side screens of a motor vehicle is prevented by warm air delivered between the front screen and a second panel b, outlets being provided along substantially the whole height at one or both edges through which the air passes over the side windows. The air may be passed over gauze covered asbestos z at the engine, Fig. 1, or may be drawn in by an electrically-heated fan E, Fig. 6, at the top of the frame ; in the latter case the connecting pipe H between the fan casing and screen is detachable so that the fan may be used to ventilate and condition the air in the interior. The rear panel is narrower than the front, or both panels may be held in a frame which is apertured for the passage of the air to the side screens and may be concave at the edges to direct the air. Curved guides may also be attached to the rear panel to direct the air flow.
