[Class 142 (i)] A harness frame for metal healds comprising upper and lower shafts a, a<1>, end bars x, x<1> and heald supporting bars 4 is provided with additional bars 2 which are connected near their ends only, by cross pins d, d<1>, to the shafts a, a<1> to permit the latter to yield at the centre without binding the healds 5. A metal loop 6 carried by the shaft a or a<1> and passing through an aperture in the bar 2, limits the vertical movement of the shafts. The bars 2 may be of T-section with the web portions located within grooves in the shafts a, a<1>, the flanges b<1>, b<2> engaging the rounded edge portions 3a, Fig. 4, or runners of bifurcated members 3 connecting the bars 2 and 4. Alternatively the flanges b<1>, b<2> may be bent to simulate a split tube b5, Fig. 9, and the heald supporting members 3 formed with a head 3d, which is slidable therein. The web h<7> may be dispensed with and the split tubes connected to the shafts by metal strips.
