Abstract

1,020,841. Gauze or leno healds. SULZER FRERES S.A. Jan. 14,1963 [Feb. 8,1962], No. 1637/63. Heading D1E . Doups 74 arranged and guided between standard healds 73, 73<SP>1</SP> of adjacent heald frames 9, 9<SP>1</SP> are carried on a doup shaft 71 which is supported by a strap 33, 33<SP>1</SP> of nylon passing between the heald frames, from a spring device 64, Fig. 5 (not shown). The strap 33, 33<SP>1</SP> carries a yoke 87 in the form of a double hook 88, 89 which is engaged alternately by the shafts 24, 24<SP>1</SP> of the frames 9, 9<SP>1</SP> to move the doup shaft 71 against spring device 64 to operate the doups to carry the crossing warps 81 past the ground warps 82, first to one side and then the other. The healds 73, 73<SP>1</SP> are cranked at 77 and 78 to facilitate this and comprise two thin strips spot welded at 76, 76<SP>1</SP>. These welds engage the bridge 97 of the eye 79 of the doup 74 to assist its downward movement and prevent bending thereof.
