435,782. Adhesive coated fabrics. JOHNSON & JOHNSON (GT. BRITAIN), Ltd., Slough, Buckinghamshire.-(Johnson & Johnson ; New Brunswick, New Jersey, U.S.A.) Nov. 21, 1934, No. 33529. [Class 140] Normally tacky adhesive tapes having a fabric or paper backing are provided on the non-adhesive side with a thin film of rubber, and superimposed on this a coating of a cellulose derivative applied in a solvent medium which contains a solvent for rubber. The cellulose derivative coating prevents adjacent convolutions of the tape adhering one to the other when the tape is rolled. Suitable cellulose derivatives are cellulose alkyl, dialkyl or alkyl-aralkyl ethers ; cellulose esters such as the butyrate, valerate, capronate, pelargonate, laurate, stearate, naphthenate, or mixed esters of these types ; and cellulose ether-esters. In an example, the final coating consists of a solution of ethyl cellulose in a mixture of toluene and methyl alcohol or ethyl acetate.
