Abstract
435,654. Conditioning air. BAKER, E. W., 29, Manor Drive, and HAWKINS, A. T., 16, Selvage Lane, both in Mill Hill, London. Nov. 2, 1934, No. 31535. [Class 137] [See also Group XIII] Air-conditioning plant for a passenger vehicle comprises fans 17, 18 for circulating air over a cooling coil, and trunks 27 leading to a trunk enclosed in translucent material 19 and delivering the cooled air to upper parts of the vehicle for distribution. A refrigerant is contained in a closed circuit comprising a compressor 14 cooling coils for the air, and condensing coils 5, 6, and is compressed and liquefied and passed to a receiver 22 from which it is taken to the cooling coils in which it evaporates. Fans 10, 11 driven by a motor 7, which also drives the compressor 14, delivers cool air on to the condensing coils 5, 6 to assist in condensing the refrigerant to liquid. The conditioned air may be admixed with fresh air.
