435,588. Explosives. SIMPSON, H. T., 5, Bailen, Vizcaya, Bilbao, Spain. Oct. 19, 1934, No. 29977. [Class 9 (ii)] An explosive specially suitable for mining and quarrying comprises a mixture of aluminium or aluminium alloy, a metallic oxide, and ammonium, potassium, or sodium nitrate. The particles of aluminium may be coated with a waterproofing material such as paraffin. One example contains ammonium nitrate 90 per cent, aluminium 6À5 per cent, and manganese dioxide 3À5 per cent.
