Abstract

435,264. Oil burners. LœTHI, A. FEURER-, Chur, Switzerland. March 12, 1934, No. 7838. Convention date, March 10, 1933. [Class 75 (i)] An air current, produced by a small noiseless fan, issuing from a nozzle 25 draws oil vapour from a vaporizing chamber 5 through a pipe 14 to a burner nozzle or nozzles 16, the flames from which burn below the vaporizing chamber with additional air drawn through a grid 28 and pass through a passage 1 to the flue 4 of a cooker 2. The oil fuel is supplied to the chamber 5 through a conduit 13, delivering into a corrugated tube 12 in which is arranged a casing 11 containing an electric heater 10 for use in starting combustion at the burner. The fuel drops from the tube 12 on to a stepped or corrugated plate 17 and is spread by passage through openings 23 in a rib 22 below a channel 21. The fuel then drops through perforations 18 in the plate 17 over the bottom wall 19 of the chamber and is vaporized, the fuel level being prevented from rising excessively by an overflow pipe 29 fitted with a syphon 30. The front plate 6 of the chamber 5 on which the burner nozzle or nozzles 16 are mounted may be removed from the chamber and the oil and air supplies and the period of operation of the electric heater may be regulated automatically.
