Abstract

434,790. Antidazzle lighting of vehicles. BENNETT, F., 69, Main Street, Lithgow, New South Wales, Australia. Dec. 4, 1933, Nos. 34042 and 34043. Void [Abridged as open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, June 6, 1934]. [Class 75 (iv)] For counteracting dazzle from the headlights of a vehicle additional illumination is provided around the vehicle, e.g. the front part of vehicle is illuminated, as by a lamp 10 projecting in front of the radiator. In combination with this arrangement a switching arrangement is described for the conjoint control of the lamp 10, the headlights and a dimmer filament in one of the headlights. As shown, the lamp 10 is carried from the radiator cap by a hollow arm through which the electric leads pass and comprises a downwardly directed reflector closed by a glass 13 held in a channel 14 by a spring tongue 15.
