Abstract

434,538. Moulding concrete piles by centrifugal machines. MITCHELL, G. E., Wayside, Chapel Lane, Partington, Cheshire. March 10, 1934, No. 7625. [Class 87 (ii)] Apparatus for centrifugally moulding hollow concrete pile sections comprises a revolving mould box, the body b<1> and ends b of which are provided with liners a, d, p to facilitate the removal of the sections from the mould, core bars e carried by the ends b of the mould to form longitudinal holes in the body of the sections, transverse ribs k on the liner a of the mould body to form transverse grooves in the sections, and projecting pieces c, q on the liners d, p of the ends b to form grooves in the ends of the sections. The edges of the liner a may abut or may be turned outwardly and engage in a corresponding groove in the mould body. The liner a may be formed in two or more portions which may be hinged together, and the liners and core bars may be formed of metal, wood, pulp or stiffened textile fabric.
