[Class 40 (iii)] An intermediate-film system uses a cinematograph camera or projector of the type in which the film is illuminated continuously. The film is moved continuously and the object 2 is focused on it by a pair of lenses 1, 4, each of which in turn moves in the direction of motion of the film a distance corresponding with one frame height and at a velocity corresponding to that of the film. The lens is then returned to its original position while the other lens is operative. According to a modification the film is moved intermittently, and a stationary lens is used while the film is still and a moving lens while it is in motion, Fig. 2 (not shown).
