431,633. Feeding sheets. FABER & SCHLEICHER AKT.-GES., 8, Sedanstrasse, Offenbach-on-Main, Germany. Feb. 25, 1935, No. 6036. Convention date, March 1, 1934. [Class 100 (ii)] Tripping-arrangements.-In connection with the feeding of a sheet 8 to the front stops 2, 3 of a printing or other machine along a path normally bounded laterally by the lines 4, 5, detector devices 6, 7 are provided for arresting the sheet, and if desired, stopping the machine should the sheet be deflected laterally beyond the lines 4, 5. The detecting devices may comprise beams of light directed through the apertures 6, 7 and arranged in conjunction with light-sensitive cells which are normally excited by the light, but the excitation of which is suspended if the beam is interrupted by the lateral projection of the sheet. By the use of mirrors the cells may be arranged on the same side of the feed table. The detectors may take the form of electric contacts in a circuit which is broken by the lateral projection of a sheet ; or pneumatic or mechanical detectors could be employed, and relays may be provided in conjunction with the detecting devices.
