[Class 69 (ii)] [See also Group V] Hydraulic presses for thin materials, such as for vulcanizing rubber floor coverings, &c., have their stationary crossheads g mounted so as to be capable of oscillation to enable the platens f, h to retain parallel relationship despite any springing of the C-shaped frame members a. The crossheads g are pivotally connected to girders c connecting the members a, and provided with bearing projections k engaging recesses in the frames a. The moving pressure member carries racks engaging pinions on a common shaft. According to the Provisional Specification, when intermediate platens are used, these are also oscillatable.
