430,917. Stabilizing bituminous emulsions. GROVES, W. W., 30, Southampton Buildings, Chancery Lane, London.-(1. G. Farbenindustrie Akt.-Ges. ; Frankfort-on-Main, Germany) Dec. 27, 1933, No. 36373. [Class 1 (i)] Bituminous emulsions obtained with the aid of an insoluble humic acid, an insoluble salt thereof or other insoluble organic emulsifying-agent having a similar action such as ground wood, ground lignite, oxidation products of phenols, tars and pitches, phenols and phenol-carboxylic acids of high molecular weight or insoluble salts thereof, are stabilized during storage by the addition of a non- alkaline water soluble salt such as sodium chloride, sodium sulphate, calcium chloride, magnesium chloride or aluminium sulphate in a quantity not exceeding 2 per cent, preferably 1-5 per mille, calculated on the quantity of emulsion.
