382,842. Pitch &c. LECHLER, P., 50, Kronenstrasse, Stuttgart, Germany. Feb. 27, 1932, No. 5932. [Class 55 (ii).] Petroleum asphalt is treated with a catalyst such as sulphuric acid, aluminium chloride, chlorsulphonic acid, zinc or ferric chloride, sulphur chloride, phosphorus trichloride, or phosphorus pentachloride, so as to polymerize unsaturated hydrocarbons contained therein. The product may be " cut " with solvents to produce an anti-corrosive paint.
