Abstract
429,276. Pipe couplings. DAVIS, SIR R. H., 187, Westminster Bridge Road, London. Nov. 28, 1933, No. 33345. [Class 99 (i)] [See also Groups VI, VII, and XXIX] The pipes 19, 21 leading from the mask to the respiration box 14 of a respiratory apparatus are secured by quick-release means comprising a rod 66 passing through stirrups 62, embracing the pipes having lugs pivoted to the box 14, and also passing through uprights 67 on the box. Springs 61 are interposed between the stirrups and the box such that withdrawal of the rod 66 immediately releases the pipes. The pipes contain at their inner ends valves, spring-pressed downwardly upon seatings to close the pipes when released, but normally held open by bridges across the box openings, which engage the valve spindles.
